The Rail Wheel Factory (RWF), a key production unit under the Ministry of Railways, Government of India, has announced an exciting opportunity for young candidates looking to start a career in technical trades.
In its latest notification for the year 2025-26 (often referred to as the 2026 cycle), RWF is inviting applications for 192 Act Apprentice positions under the Apprentices Act, 1961. This is a great chance for ITI-qualified individuals to gain hands-on training in various engineering trades at a prestigious railway establishment. Note that this is purely a training program—no guarantee of permanent employment follows completion.
Vacancy Breakdown by Trade
The 192 slots are distributed across several in-demand trades:
- Fitter — 85 posts
- Machinist — 31 posts
- CNC Programming cum Operator (COE Group) — 23 posts
- Electronic Mechanic — 22 posts
- Electrician — 18 posts
- Mechanic (Motor Vehicle) — 8 posts
- Turner — 5 posts
These numbers are tentative and could change slightly based on final requirements. Reservations apply as per Government of India rules for SC/ST, OBC, Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD—around 8 seats), and Ex-Servicemen (around 6 seats).
