The Indian Army is giving young graduates a fantastic chance to become officers through the NCC Special Entry Scheme for 2026.
What Exactly is the NCC Special Entry Scheme?
In simple words, the NCC Special Entry is a shortcut for graduates who were part of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) during college. They directly move to checking if you have the right personality and skills through interviews. A few spots are saved for children of fallen or injured Army heroes as a way to honor their families.
How Many vacancies Are Available?
For the 124th course starting in October 2026, the Army has announced nearly 70-76 vacancies in total. These are divided like this:
Most seats (around 63 for men and some for women) go to people with a valid NCC 'C' Certificate.
A smaller portion of seats(about 7-8) is reserved for wards (sons/daughters) of battle casualty Army personnel.
The exact split can include separate counts for men and women, but overall, it's a good number of openings for eligible youth.
Selected people will train at the Officers Training Academy (OTA) in Chennai for about 49 weeks (almost one year). After that, they get commissioned as Lieutenants.

To apply, you need to fit these main requirements:Education
You must have a bachelor's degree (graduation) in any subject from a recognized university or college. If you're in your final year right now, you can still apply — but you have to finish your degree before the course starts in October 2026.
